Ada review

Enterprise AI customer service agent that resolves and acts across chat, email, voice and messaging.

Verdict

Ada suits large, multi-channel support teams that want one AI agent taking real actions across chat, email and voice, with serious testing and change controls. The catch is price: nothing is published, and buyer data puts the median contract at $72,000 a year 18.

Good fit if you are

  • Enterprises with high conversation volume across chat, email and voice
  • Global brands that need one agent in 60 languages
  • Teams that want simulation testing and approval-gated changes

Look elsewhere if you are

  • Small teams that want self-serve signup and public prices
  • Buyers who need an ISO 27001 or ISO 42001 certificate
  • Teams that only want to pay for resolved conversations by default

What Ada is

Ada sells an AI customer service agent that runs across messaging, email and voice from a single platform 1,2. It is built for large companies: Ada reports more than 550 enterprise AI agents deployed and 6.4 billion interactions handled, with customers such as Cebu Pacific, Pinterest, Canva and monday.com 3.

The product has moved well past scripted chatbots. Ada Computer gives the agent tools to work inside business systems through APIs, code and MCP, and Playbooks let it follow multi-step procedures using live data 2. A Unified Reasoning Engine applies the same logic in every channel 2.

What it can do

Teams connect knowledge from Zendesk, Salesforce or a website, or write articles in Ada, and the agent answers in 60 languages on messaging and email, with a subset on voice 16,4. For tasks, it calls APIs, runs code or uses MCP tools, handling jobs such as returns, exchanges, reward codes and account changes 2,14. When it cannot finish, it hands the customer to a human in Salesforce, Zendesk, Genesys, NICE CXone or nine other platforms 13.

Control is a strength. Simulations run bulk, multi-turn test conversations on chat, email and voice before changes go live 5. Change sets stage edits to knowledge, Playbooks and Actions, test them, and require explicit approval to promote, with one-step rollback 6. An audit log records who changed what and through which interface 7.

  • Actions. Ada Computer gives the agent tools to act in business systems through APIs, code and MCP, and Playbooks run multi-step procedures with live data 2. Documented tasks include processing returns and exchanges, sending return labels, applying reward codes and making account changes 14.
  • Setup. Teams connect a knowledge base such as Zendesk or Salesforce, import website content or write articles, then test the agent in the dashboard 16. Ada's own team usually pre-configures the agent for new customers 16.
  • Handoff to people. Native handoff to human agents in 13 platforms, including Salesforce, Zendesk, Genesys and NICE CXone, across messaging, email and voice 13.
  • Analytics. The Performance Center tracks and optimises agent performance, and conversation-level records support internal reviews 2,8.

Pricing

Ada publishes no prices; its pricing page books a demo 17. Most customers pay per conversation, whether or not the AI resolves it, and a resolution-based model is offered to some enterprises 2. A messaging conversation covers all messages with one user in one channel over 24 hours, and conversations beyond the contracted volume are billed at Ada's then-current rates 11. Vendr's buyer data shows a median contract of $72,000 a year, ranging from about $36,000 to $286,000, with implementation estimated at $15,000 to $100,000+ on top 18.

Model providers, including Anthropic, OpenAI, Azure OpenAI and Cohere, run under zero data retention and may not train on customer data, though Ada may use aggregated statistics to improve its own models 10,11,12.
